CCCA Reception: One Week Away!

ny-WEBSITE-blackborder-101314 In one week, we'll be in New York City for our biggest event of the year, our annual Cocktail Reception and Silent Auction. Every fall, we're blessed to be joined by a terrific crowd of friends and supporters who share our passion for creating a brighter future for our nation's kids.

RosenAward_WebBannerThis year's event is particularly special because we are celebrating our 15th anniversary and we will be launching the newly established Leonard M. Rosen Memorial Research Award. This award honors the legacy of a dedicated and beloved board member whose commitment to improving the treatment and care for children with cancer grew out of his grandson's cancer experience. Leonard served as the first Board Chair of the Children's Cause from 1999 to 2004, guiding our work with sound judgment and wise counsel until his passing earlier this year.

A highlight of the event is always the presentation of an honoree with an award recognizing their outstanding dedication to the childhood cancer community. Last year, we honored Dr. David Poplack, CCCA Board Member and Director of the Texas Children's Cancer Center. This year, we'll be recognizing Beth Silber, Vice President of the CCCA Board, for her service to children with cancer. Beth's son is a childhood leukemia survivor who finished treatment in 2007.

Guests at the CCCA Reception learn about our current advocacy efforts and gain a richer understanding of how their support is helping to make a difference in the lives of children with cancer.

Please join us in thanking the event committee, led by co-chairs Lynn Bayard and Susan and Stephen Scherr, for making this terrific event possible year after year!

The CCCA Reception is taking place at the Academy Mansion, 2 East 63rd Street, from 7-9:30pm on Thursday, October 30. If you're in the area and interested in joining us, click here to purchase a ticket -- or just buy yours at the door!
