FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 16, 2010

CCCA Board Members Elizabeth Goss and Maureen Lilly hosted an intimate gathering of supporters in Washington, D.C. last night to celebrate CCCA's revitalized energy toward public policy efforts around childhood cancer issues. The event was held on Capitol Hill and featured a public introduction of Lori Salley, CCCA's recently appointed Executive Director.

Maureen, a dedicated DC Board member, spoke passionately about the importance of being an advocate for cancer patients and families, from her perspective as a mother of a daughter who lost her battle with a brain tumor. See the full list of CCCA's Board Members.

Lori's professional experience as a longtime Capitol Hill aide is central to CCCA's mission of ensuring that the needs and perspectives of childhood cancer survivors and their families are heard by policymakers and implemented into legislation that can improve their health and lives. For more about Lori Salley, see the full press release announcing her appointment as Executive Director.

CCCA is closely tracking all legislation in Congress related to childhood cancer research and survivorship and taking active steps towards strengthening these bills. See the full list of relevant legislative initiatives currently in Congress here.

Lori, Maureen, Elizabeth and the rest of CCCA's Board and Staff thank all of the DC supporters for their generous gifts of time and money toward our important advocacy goals. If you wish to donate, please visit our online donation page.
