As we head into a long weekend and the start of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we want to know: How you will #StepUp in support of more funding for childhood cancer research this September?
Maybe you plan to contact local media, meet with your Congressman, or include the #StepUp message in a local community awareness event? Whatever your pledge, we want to hear about it! Be sure to share your #StepUpPledge on social media with the hashtag and tell the world how you plan to raise awareness around the need for increased childhood cancer funding.
At the Children's Cause for Cancer Advocacy, we'll be focused on engaging advocates around the country to make the biggest possible impact for kids with cancer. One week from Saturday, we'll be kicking off the month with a regional advocacy workshop in Durham, North Carolina. This day-long event will be an opportunity to train and educate passionate advocates around local and national issues, including the current state of federal funding that makes the #StepUp campaign so necessary.
Later in the month, we'll be engaged in a wide variety of Washington-based activities to raise awareness and mobilize more advocates. We're excited to be working with so many other great childhood cancer groups and coalitions to make this September an active and impactful month, and we hope you'll be joining us for the journey!
P.S. Be sure to challenge your family and friends to join you in making a #StepUpPledge this September - and tweet about it to the media!
