#StepUp to Help Kids Shine!

StepUpShine_Starv2Will you #StepUp with us again this week? Back in June, we participated in a week-long coordinated community effort to join forces in advocating for more childhood cancer research funding and asking lawmakers to #StepUp in support of our kids. It was a big success, with thousands of tweets and letters sent to Congress, in addition to the more than 250 advocates that came to DC in person for Childhood Cancer Action Day.

This week's #StepUp campaign is all about raising public awareness as we head into September -- Childhood Cancer Awareness Month! For the next five days, we'll ask you to join us in spreading the word by reaching out to different target groups of celebrities and participating in daily social media challenges.

StepUp_Shine_Lonav2Today, we look to the stars -- our own (our kids!) and the famous ones in Hollywood. CHALLENGE: Take a #StepUpSelfie of yourself, your kids, or even your pets and share it with the message that every child deserves to shine on and live a long, bright life -- but we need more funding for childhood cancer research to make that goal a reality. For the clearest messaging, we suggest holding up a sign or adding the campaign URL (as pictured here) and be sure to tag it #StepUpSelfie when you share it on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc., so we can all see and share!

If you're on Twitter, we also ask you to tweet this to your followers and to your favorite Hollywood celebrities, asking them to support our cause:

Give our kids the chance to shine! Will you #StepUp and support more funding for childhood cancer research? http://stepupforchildhoodcancer.com

Tomorrow we'll share a new challenge with a new celebrity group to target. We thank you all in advance for taking this #StepUp with us, and we can't wait to see the creative and inspiring #StepUpSelfies of your shining stars!
