This is an exciting time of year for us! One week from today - November 14th - is our biggest event of the year, taking place in the heart of New York City. Year after year, this event brings out a terrific crowd of friends and supporters who share our passion for creating a brighter future for our nation's kids.
A highlight of the event is always the presentation of an honoree with an award recognizing their contribution to the childhood cancer community. Last year, we honored Pfizer for its commitment to pediatric cancer research and treatment development.
This year, we're excited to announce that Dr. David Poplack will be our featured honoree. Dr. Poplack is a CCCA Board Member and the Director of the Texas Children's Cancer Center, the largest children's cancer center in the country. He'll speak about his decades of experience in pediatric oncology and the importance of childhood cancer advocacy, especially in today's climate of budget cuts and the sequester.
This event is a cocktail reception and silent auction -- and so much more. Guests leave the event better informed about our current advocacy efforts and empowered by how their support is helping to make a difference in the lives of children with cancer.
And we at CCCA leave the event energized, encouraged and full of gratitude.
Please join us in giving special thanks to the dedicated event committee, led by co-chairs Susan and Stephen Scherr and Lynn Bayard!
The Reception is taking place at the Ukrainian Institute of America in Manhattan (2 East 79th Street), on Thursday, November 14 from 7:00-9:30pm. If you would like to buy a ticket or make a contribution, please visit here. Thank you!
